What is the difference between a white filling and a silver filling?

Silver fillings are composed of dental amalgam, a mixture of metals that has been used for decades to treat dental caries. White (composite) fillings are more attractive since they match the color of your tooth, and bond with the tooth to prevent future decay.

What is periodontal disease and how do you treat it?

Periodontal (gum) disease is caused by bacteria found in plaque and tartar. Symptoms include bad breath, gum recession, increased sensitivity, bleeding gums, and abscesses. It is important to remember that your teeth, gums, and overall well-being can be affected by periodontal disease. Treatments include periodontal cleanings, root planing and scaling, laser therapy, and antibiotics.

Why are my teeth sensitive?

There are many reasons for sensitive teeth- one of which may be that your gums have slightly receded. This exposes more of your nerve. Tooth whitening can also cause increased sensitivity. We invite you to speak to our dentists about desensitizing products or treatments.

What is dental bonding?

Dental bonding is a treatment that provides cosmetic and restorative results immediately! It is cost-friendly and relatively painless. Be aware that dental bonds can be stained with foods like coffee, wine, or tea.

What are the benefits of dental implants?

Dental implants best replicate the function and appearance of your natural teeth and help to maintain your dental structure. As a result, you are at a lower risk for periodontal disease, bone loss, or tooth mobility. Advancements in dental technology now allow many people to receive implants, and within 3-4 visits, your smile can be renewed.
